Hey Peeps here is a new painting apres Maurice de Vlaminck "After the Rain". Why de Vlaminck? His paintings are dark and mysterious. He was a big fan of Vincent van Gogh. He loved van Gogh's style and his message. I love mystery.
I skipped a few of the photo steps. I think you'll get the idea.
This is done with Flashe Painte. First I did a pencil sketch, then started blocking in the painting. I did a lot of layering and washes to catch the mood of the rain.
I started working from the top and worked down then I painted in different areas, cleaning my brush on the canvas to incorporate the sky colors and the building colors.
When I painted the water, no photo here, I painted it with prussian blue and yellow ochre. It can out really dark. As I painted more of the water I worked in raw umber, more yellow ochre, oriental red, senegal yellow , prussian blue, a little black and white.
The trees were painted with sepia brown, prussian blue, black, raw umber, senegal yellow burnt umber and white.
